Painting > Day Paintings

Wed., Jan. 6, 2010
Well, it turns out that I like painting animals. Who knew? Last night, I was talking with a good friend, explaining what happened yesterday, what with making multiple 'day paintings' in one day. He said, and I'm taking his advice, "You should only get one shot each day and part of what is interesting will be seeing the ones that just don't work out. Plus, it will make you a better artist." One problem left is the philosophical split, with only one image, do I choose to represent the mundane shifts in our world or the global-impact kind. . .

I'm sure that someone has written/thought more insightfully than me about the ramifications of media depiction of events that affect vs. intersect our lives. Anyone have articles/references for me on this subject?
